As light transitions throughout the day, specific coral proteins are excited by changing wavelengths, creating a display that mirrors natural reef rhythms. In the soft blue light of dawn and dusk, green fluorescent proteins (GFPs) in these corals are excited by 450 nm wavelengths, producing a calm, glowing meadow effect.
