The world's first all-inclusive marine aquarium.
A Living Oceans Aquarium is much more than a fish tank. It’s a living, thriving marine ecosystem delivered to your home. Including fish, a living coral reef and an intelligent automated system, our aquariums are designed to be simple to set up in 90 minutes. Designed by scientists, for you.
“I’d love an aquarium, but I just don’t know if I could look after it.”
This is by far the most common thing we hear. The good news is that our aquariums were specifically designed for people who love the idea of a marine aquarium, but want a system that’s simple, stable and enjoyable to look after.
Living Ocean Aquariums
The world’s first all inclusive marine ecosystem aquarium bundle with live fish and a thriving coral reef, established from day one. Every part of the system is carefully engineered so nature can take over and is simple to look after.
Traditional Aquariums
Complex, difficult, and built for hardcore hobbyists. Sold as a list of parts that you have to piece together. Then it’s all on you to manage cycling, balance chemistry, troubleshoot problems and keep the system stable.
Everything included. Owning a marine fish tank made simple.
We’ve removed the guesswork from owning a marine fish tank. No confusing equipment choices, no trying to piece everything together yourself. Just a carefully designed marine ecosystem, calibrated and tested, delivered ready to set up and enjoy.

The most common questions we get asked.
-
Not at all. Living Oceans Aquariums are designed to make marine aquarium keeping simple and enjoyable for everyone, even without any prior aquarium experience.
Traditional saltwater aquariums can be complicated and difficult to maintain, so we’ve rethought the entire experience. Every part of the system works together to create a balanced, stable ecosystem that’s easy to understand, simple to set up and look after.
You’ll also be well supported throughout your journey, with access to our Support Hub for training, support, and educational content, and if extra help is needed, our team is here to provide ongoing support. -
We’ve intentionally made the decision process simple. The main choice is selecting the aquarium size and cabinet colour that best suits your home.

Living Oceans Aquariums are designed to fit easily into everyday life. Most tasks only take a few minutes and very simple.
- Daily (1 min): A quick check that everything is running smoothly and your reef looks healthy.
- Weekly (4 min): Clean the glass with a magnet cleaner and gently stir the
sand. - Monthly (10 min): Top up the auto feeder and freshwater reservoir, and scrape any hard algae from the glass.
- Every 3 months (30 min): Perform a simple preventative water change using the included Maintenance Kit.
Step-by-step guidance and training videos are available through the Living Oceans Support Hub.
If you need extra help, you can opt for our quarterly Professional Maintenance service. -
Absolutely. The system is designed to be simple to set up yourself, but if you’d prefer not to, professional setup service is available in selected areas.
You can also use a local handyman or contractor to help with setup using our guide. Contact Living Oceans to discuss the best option for your location.
-
Absolutely! Living Oceans Aquariums are designed with automation for feeding, lighting, filtration and water top-ups, so most owners can comfortably go away for up to 2–3 weeks.
We still recommend having someone pop in occasionally to check the aquarium. You can also install a camera with remote access for extra peace of mind.
-
The two biggest risks in marine aquariums are overfeeding and unnoticed dead snail left in the ecosystem. Both can increase nutrients and destabilise the ecosystem. Living Oceans systems are designed to minimise overfeeding with an auto-feeder, but your daily visual checks for livestock health are important.
-
Living Oceans Aquariums are designed to be energy efficient and low maintenance. The system runs from a single power point, with running costs mainly including electricity, fish food, salt mix and filter media replaced during quarterly water change.
To make things even easier, the included Maintenance Kit comes with enough salt and filter media for your first quarterly maintenance, so there are very little ongoing costs involved. -
Sustainability sits at the heart of Living Oceans. Our livestock is sustainably sourced and aquacultured through trusted suppliers, with fish and corals carefully selected for their resilience and ease of care.

Yes. Every Living Oceans Aquarium comes with a family of fish and a starter 5-pack of corals. After the first month, as the ecosystem matures, your aquarium is ready for a clean-up crew and additional corals. The modular Living Blocks reef system also makes it easy to expand and customise your reef over time.
-
Marine fish like clownfish can live for many years in a stable, healthy aquarium ecosystem, often around 5 to 10 years.
If a fish does die, don’t panic. Simply remove it from the aquarium as soon as possible using the Living Oceans safe removal procedure to help avoid nutrient spikes. In some cases, the clean-up crew may begin breaking it down before it is noticed, which is a natural part of a balanced ecosystem.
