Adding Livestock

Welcome to the stage of setting up your Living Oceans Aquarium, adding your living ecosystem.

Once your livestock delivery arrives, start by visually inspecting all bags before opening.

Check:

• livestock is healthy and alive
• corals match your order
• living sand and bio-media are included
  

Remove the light, hang it safely to the side, remove the lid, and gently lift the reef out onto a towel-covered surface.

Open the coral bags and, using clean hands, place each coral into the reef.

For corals with plugs:

• insert into the reef holes until secure
  

For larger corals without plugs:

• place directly onto the reef
• secure with aquarium-safe super glue if needed
  

Once complete, return the reef to the aquarium and push it down into the sand.

Next, install the living bio-media.

Add the supplied bio-media bags into the filter baskets and return them to the filtration chamber with the carbon and phosphate media on top.

If you hear bubbling, gently adjust the baskets to release trapped air.

Add the living sand by opening the bag underwater and pouring it into the sand bed.

Now acclimate your fish.

Float the bags in the aquarium for around 10 minutes to match temperature.

Once ready:

• remove fish using the net
• do not add bag water into the aquarium
• transfer fish promptly
  

For the clean-up crew, place them directly onto the reef.

Finish by installing the Lagoon Algae Refuge onto the back wall and adding the supplied algae starter pack.

Your Living Oceans ecosystem is now complete and ready to begin.
