Getting started is straightforward. Choose your size (small, medium, or large) and cabinet colour (black or white), then decide on your fish. You can visit the Living Oceans lab in Osborne Park to make your selection, browse the website, or speak with the team by phone before livestock is shipped. Hardware and livestock are delivered as a two-part shipment, and setup takes around 90 minutes to two hours.
Ongoing maintenance is minimal by design:
- Clean the glass with the magnet cleaner once or twice a week (takes 20–30 seconds)
- Top up the auto feeder and auto top off once a month
- Do a water change every three months — the maintenance kit makes this a 15-minute task
Every aquarium purchase includes a full maintenance kit: two buckets, a pump, magnet cleaner, scraper, and everything needed for installation and ongoing care.
The Living Oceans range is growing. The current flagship is the Clownfish Tank, with a Seahorse Tank coming soon and a Freshwater Tank planned for the following year. All developed in WA in partnership with local universities, coral farms, and fish farms — with some livestock sourced from Queensland and hardware from leading international manufacturers.
