When purchasing, the only decisions are selecting the aquarium size (80L, 130L or 200L) and choosing between a black or white cabinet. Everything else needed to establish a thriving marine ecosystem is included.

A Complete Ecosystem from Day One

Each Living Oceans Aquarium arrives with the essential biological foundations already planned for long-term success. This includes a carefully selected combination of Orange Banded Clownfish and Black Banded Clownfish, along with five Foundation Soft Corals, Macroalgae, Live Bio-Media and Live Sand.

These species and materials have been chosen for their hardiness, compatibility and ability to work together as a balanced marine ecosystem. By starting with proven livestock combinations, new reef keepers can enjoy the beauty of a living coral reef without the complexity often associated with marine aquariums.

Expanding Your Ecosystem Over Time

After the first month, the aquarium begins developing natural algae and microbial growth that supports a clean-up crew. At this stage, owners can introduce:

• Hermit Crabs
• Zombie Snails
  

These invertebrates help manage algae, recycle nutrients and contribute to the ongoing health of the aquarium.

Additional corals can also be added once the system has matured. To minimise stress and maintain stability, Living Oceans recommends introducing around five new corals per month rather than adding large numbers at once.

For those wanting something a little different, livestock can be customised before dispatch. Popular options include upgrading to Designer Clownfish or adding a Dottyback Fish to create additional colour and personality within the aquarium.
