How to Program Your Living Oceans Aquarium LED Light
The LED lighting system included with a Living Oceans Aquarium is designed to replicate a natural day and night cycle while bringing out the vibrant colours of your fish and corals. Once programmed, the light operates automatically, providing a consistent environment that supports coral health and simplifies aquarium ownership.
Getting Started with the Netlea V2 App
Programming the light requires a smartphone with Bluetooth enabled and the Netlea V2 app installed.
After opening the app, add a new device and select your aquarium light from the Bluetooth device list. Once connected, you'll gain access to the lighting schedule and intensity controls.
If a connection error appears, particularly a message displayed in Chinese, the most common cause is that the light is already connected to another device. Disconnect the existing connection and try pairing again.
Setting the Moonlight Schedule
The first stage is configuring the moonlight period.
Select Natural Mode and choose the Moon setting. A low intensity setting of around level 3, with a wattage output of approximately 1 to 2 watts, provides a subtle transition between darkness and daylight.
Living Oceans recommends running moonlight for around two hours before the main daylight cycle begins.
Creating a Natural Daylight Cycle
For the main lighting period, select Custom Mode within the Natural Mode settings. This provides greater control over the spectrum and intensity.
A proven starting point is to increase the blue channels to approximately two-thirds of maximum output, then add small amounts of white and red light to achieve a balanced appearance. This spectrum helps highlight coral fluorescence while maintaining a natural reef aesthetic.
Run the daylight schedule for approximately eight hours each day.
Finishing with Evening Moonlight
Once the daylight period ends, add a second moonlight cycle using the same settings as the morning schedule.
This creates a gradual transition into darkness and helps replicate the natural lighting conditions found on coral reefs.
Save and Enjoy
Once all lighting periods have been configured, select Submit Schedule to save the program to the light.
With the schedule active, your aquarium will automatically transition between moonlight and daylight phases each day, providing consistent lighting for your corals while allowing you to simply sit back and enjoy your Living Oceans Aquarium.
