Auto Top Off (ATO) | Water Level LED Refilling | Troubleshooting Bubbles in the Aquarium
Transcript
The Auto Top-Off (ATO) system automatically replaces evaporated water to help maintain stable salinity in your aquarium.
The ATO water level sensor is located in the pump chamber.
To install or replace the ATO:
- place the green water level sensor into the pump chamber and secure it with the external magnet
- pass the sensor cable through to the cabinet
- connect the power and pump cables to the labelled ports on the controller
- unscrew the nut from the ATO bulkhead fitting
- insert the elbow through the hole in the back of the aquarium and secure the nut
- pass the hose through to the cabinet
- connect the hose to the ATO pump
- place the pump on the bottom of the reservoir
Next, fill the reservoir.
You can either bring water to the reservoir or remove the reservoir and fill it at a sink.
We recommend filling it to approximately 15 litres.
At this level, the reservoir should last around four to six weeks before requiring a refill.
Use:
- filtered tap water where possible
- standard tap water if filtered water is unavailable
Once filled:
- place the pump back into the reservoir
- connect the hose
- slide the reservoir back into the cabinet
- ensure the pump remains on the bottom of the reservoir
- replace the reservoir lid
Turn the power back on.
As the aquarium returns to normal operation, the water level in the pump chamber may temporarily drop.
The ATO system will automatically detect this and add freshwater until the correct water level is restored.
Check the LED water level sensor:
- flashing green indicates the ATO pump is operating
- solid green indicates normal operation
If the sensor displays red:
- turn the power off for three seconds
- turn the power back on
The sensor should return to normal operation and display green.
Thanks for watching.
